Our Tamaskan Experience...

As with many, we stumbled across the Tamaskan Breed by accident but instantly fell in love with the wolf look-a-like.

Our boy Juneau was born December 16, 2007.  Juneau is our very caring, loving, smart, playful, energetic, goofy, sometimes obedient son!

Right Puppy Fairbanks: Dame: Moonstone Lovelight X Sire: Blustag Wanderer

Juneau is a beautiful physical example of the Tamaskan Dog.  Unfortunately, at the young age of 10 months he was diagnosed with Idiopathic Epilepsy.  We have successfully controlled his cluster seizures with two medications.  Epilepsy is only one of the health issues that can plague the Tamaskan breed.  We would have loved to have bred Juneau, however due to his epilepsy we responsibly had him neutered.

Juneau's epilepsy possibly passed through Juneau's grandfather, Blustag Star Burst at Blufawn, as two of his siblings were confirmed epileptics (one living, one passed) and another sibling unfortunately died of Addison's Disease.  This dog was again used for breeding even after the puppy owners informed the breeder of the epilepsy.  Clinical studies claim that siblings of epileptics should not be bred from.
