The ANCD is also a new breed in progress. The founder, beginning in 1991, has created her own breed composed of herding, northern, retriever, sheep guarding, and sighthound breeds. Specifically the following breakdown:
Retrieving Group: Black Lab
Sheep Guarding Group: Great Pyrenees
Sighthound Group: Greyhound
Noble family... Pepsi, Cola & XenaIowa, son of Pepsi
4/14/11: Introducing Dresselhaus Rook @ Buckhorn. Son of Dresselhaus Pepsi and Dresselhaus Starbuck, born 2/15/11. CERF clear. He is not a solid black phase like his mom Pepsi and has a very mild temperment. His eye coloration will likely be brown unlike his parent's yellow. See picture gallery for Rook photos.
5/22/11: Rook is growing nicely. Like his Tamaskan brother he is raw feed. At three months old he is closing in on 30 lbs and 18" at the sholder. In comparison, Juneau at that age was 20 lbs and is now 3.5 years old and 67 lbs. Rook stands with his front legs close together with feet turned slightly outward. His tail is full and straight with no signs of any curl, unlike many of the Tamaskan dogs. He and Juneau play and wrestle constantly and seem to enjoy each others company.
11/2012: Rook is closing in on 2 years. Stay tuned for health testing. If all passing, then he will be available for stud.
01/2015: Rook passed his OFA hip testing with a "Good" scoring. Rook is now 4 years old. He is very attached to me and a very shy towards others. He can not be left unattended inside the home as he can become very destructive if contained. Please note, the ANCD is not a breed for the novice dog owner. Experience with other northern breeds recommended if looking to own an ANCD.
Under construction. Check back for Rook updates and additions as they become available.
